Chiefly business papers from estate of Peter Edwards including promissory notes, receipts for taxes, cotton, household supplies, and plantation management, doctor and dental bills, and pew rental in the Welsh Neck Baptist Church. Bill, 24 May 1825, D.N.W. McIver's for making shoes for slaves and mending harness; letter, 14 July 1825, Elisha Winburn, to D[avid] R[ogerson] Williams, Darlington, S.C., requesting that Williams pay bill for Winburn's service as overseer on Peter Edward's plantation. Also including manuscript, 1818-1823, concerning interest due to the late Col. Edwards sent to the Welsh Neck Baptist Church; 2 receipts, 13 July 1829 and 16 Nov. 1830, Richland School, Darlington County, S.C., for funds from John N. Williams for tuition, board, uniform, and incidental expenses, signed by Bailey and Dana, Superintendents; receipt, 16 Jan. 1833, St. David's Society, to Mrs. [Jane D.] Edwards for Peter Edwards' tuition. Also including 6 manuscripts, 1826-1831, Darlington District, S.C., for sale of cotton, plantation supplies and medical bills against the estate.
